Study skills

Study skills are an essential part of the learning process, as we acquire different ways of understanding topics or a subject during our course. I am going to share some of the study methods that I use as my study habits.

Firstly, I prefer to study at night as I believe it is the best time to memorize things easily as during night there is less noise in the surroundings which is essential to focus at a particular topic more effectively not only it increases the focus ability but also improves the long term memory of a person which helps me to memorize things for a long period of time. Along with that I also prefer to have a cup of coffee as it prevents me from falling to sleep and gives me some extra time to study more.
Secondly, I try to divide things into parts so that I could grab every detail of the material effectively without any burden. One study proves this point. Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studied four groups of people. Each of the groups worked on a brain-intensive task for 50 minutes. The group that took more breaks had the highest mental stamina at the end of the 50 minutes (University of Illinois). In this way, I give my mind enough time to refresh by taking a nap or by doing some other activity for some time.

Thirdly, I like to reward myself with some treat after completing a particular task as it creates a sense of accomplishment and motivates me to perform well in my next task.
There are some of the changes that can make to improve my study habits to be successful in my program that I feel is the most crucial is not to procrastinate. As I have the habit to procrastinate a lot to leave my work at the last moment which I need to overcome to be successful in my program.
